Born in Scotland (High Blantyre) in the early 60ís, I am on a mission to capture moments in time of this beautiful but quickly changing world around me. Equally at home with photographing landscapes as well as the more controlled studio environment, I am constantly looking out for ways in which to improve and expand my knowledge and portfolio.
Always open to suggestions of collaborative work and assignments.
Type business: Aspiring Enthusiast
My photographic style: Some may say that I have yet to settle into a style but I think that it could more correctly be interpreted as a wish to push the boundaries of photography, leading me to the place where my style fits into, where it needs to be.
My greatest strengths: My greatest strengths are my willingness to explore the many facets of photography and to not be phased by any of it.
I have been in photography: Dipping in and out for around 20 years but more serious in the last 8 years.
How I got started in photography: I found inspiration from my partner.
My photographic skills: My key skills are portrait, still life and landscape.
My personality: Enthusiastic and outgoing.
Geographic areas I cover: Mainly work in the UK unless an overseas opportunity arises.
Venues I frequently attend: I enjoy working in my pop-up home studio and also in a club studio.
I found inspiration from: Annie Leibovitz
Success in photography: Have participated in local club competitions winning a number of trophies.
Photographic training: All self taught and through some mentoring.
My interests outside photography: I like music and walking.
Why I like the SWPP: As a new member I am impressed by the range of help and support that is on offer.
Tagline: Through Light and Shadow to image excellence.
Future plans: I would love my photography to become something much more serious.
