I asked Trevor what drives him to keep photographing after over 40 years in the business. 'It's all I've ever known and it's all I've ever wanted to do. Faye followed me into the business 33 years ago and it's all we've ever done together.' Trevor and Faye certainly have a unique working relationship, building ideas and images together.
'I live with my inspiration!' Faye reveals to me. 'Trevor has so many ideas and I often go along with them which is great fun.'
Faye's previous career in hair and make-up certainly gives her an advantage alongside her natural artistry when it comes to photography too. 'I have a very good background in hairdressing for the style of work that we do. Not just from college but also from my mother who was around in the 40s and she taught me how to finger weave when I was young. She also taught me the beautiful, strong make-up that was worn for black and white movies and I love to use that in my work.'
Although Faye focuses on her photography now she still keeps up with the styling industry by judging hairdressing competitions as well as photographic competitions. 'I love judging photographs' Faye tells me. 'We all have an eye for what we see, but it's not until all the judges get together that you realise we're all so different. What one judge will fight for, another one won't, but we all come together eventually and hopefully decide on the best one!'
