The Perfect Cover Drive - part 2 of 1 2 3

by Damian McGillicuddy Published 01/04/2013

The cover shot was deliberately shot on location at Focus to demonstrate what can be done when you have the Big Dog's imagination. The exposure was 1/10s at f5.6, 200ISO on an Olympus 17mm f2.8 fixed lens, with a splash of flash. The image processing was also carried out at Focus using a couple of onOne filters for the final moody effect.

All the other shots in this feature were made on location at Focus, we even shot the shoot as it happened!

Damian's Bit

I agree, to some the OM-D may look slightly out of place in my hands - there is a size discrepancy.

We have a saying though in the 'glorious north' which for this camera is very apt..."It's not the size of the dog in the fight but the size of the fight in the dog."

The new format of the compact system camera is compelling to me. The form and function alone piqued my interest. Now couple that to the quality the Olympus OM-D is capable of delivering and its use for me over its bigger and heavier brothers is an absolute no brainer. Anybody who saw my exhibition at the fabulous Convention in January can be in no doubt of the quality the OM-D is capable of delivering.
