The light doesn't change much in this sort of set-up and so once you've got your exposure settings you can concentrate on shooting, posing and directing your subject for a range of images. Because this form of light is virtually shadow-less you can twist and turn their features and really assess their look without having to worry about shadow patterns.
I used a minimum of direction in these sets, letting Haylie move and see how comfortable she looked in front of camera.
A quick change of outfit and it was time to make use of a very rare feature in Glasgow - bright sunshine! We'd picked the hottest, sunniest day in Glasgow this year, possibly this decade, to shoot. Not so bad as a glamorous young model but, as a heftier gentleman, I was raining! I asked Haylie to put on a pair of sunglasses to shield her eyes and had her look up into the sun. I love the strong light and the shadows it creates across the face and body. If your subject has good cheekbones then this is the light for them! I asked her to flick her hair around to put some movement and animation into part of the set too. Shot at 1/3200s at f2.8 using 70-200mm lens.
