OK, that's my mini ramble and 'rose tinted' view out of the way, so let's move on to the bit I know you lot really want...
So what did I do and why did I do it:
This image was shot on one of Team McGillicuddy's recent 'Mini lights - Maximum Effect' speed light workshops, workshop details can be found here.
The intention of the image was to create a cool relaxed, laid back, pseudo fashion-styled image. The location was selected for two reasons, firstly because it was out of direct sunlight and was hence speedlight friendly. Secondly, the location was picked to enable the recumbent pose and for the colour and tonality of the surroundings which accentuate the skin an hair and harmonise with the darker clothing.
This image is really about the simplicity of the relaxed 'cool' laid back thoroughly Modern Miss and is carried by the location and more so the dynamics of the pose. Although relaxed in feel the triangular setting of the limbs implies a self confidence and inner strength. The curve in the body contrasting against the architectural linearity surrounding her.
