Goddess of Fire - part 4 of 1 2 3 4 5 6

This is always a courtesy but particularly important if, as in this shoot, you are working with a model wearing a heavy hair piece as it will give them scalp ache if you take too much time. Usually I'll mark the place I want the model to stand with a coin but in this instance we had a high stool for Lotte to perch on as I didn't want her moving too much as that would alter where the rim lights hit and potentially create disturbing light patterns on her face.

So with the stage set - time to get shooting.

It was then time to add the smoke in. A little was pumped out behind Lotte so that it caught in the light spilling from the side lights. To render smoke in an image it needs to be backlit to get the best detail.
