Finally we shot another image to show the full range of the hair pieces. I asked Lotte to pose with her hands out, palms up so that I could add in a couple of flame effects later on. The flames were taken from a rights free stock library and added in by dragging onto the image, changing the blending mode to screen and then transforming them to the desired size and position.

Now it was time for the fun to really begin! Louise tweaked the makeup makeup and got Lotte ready for a full body paint and Nicola finalised the most fantastic hair-piece I've ever had the privilege to shoot. The height almost caused me a problem as the combined height of Lotte and the hair meant I couldn't shoot in the studio as I couldn't raise the background paper high enough. Not to worry though as I took everything down moved to one of the barns and set up there. Better still, it's harvest time here and this barn is a drying store for the grain and so warm air was circulating - important as the sun was dropping, it was getting cool and soon poor Lotte would be out here with nothing on but a layer of paint and a four-foot cone of hair!
