Street fashion is always great fun and usually attracts a little attention. This set was in a back street off the sea front in Cabanas and yet still attracted a small audience. Later that evening one of the watching ladies invited some of the group into her home to shoot as she'd been so entertained by our antics. Here we back lit Tilly with sunshine and a yellow gelled flash and used a second Quadra to light her from the front, taking a meter reading that kept detail in the sky and then adding the flash in to keep the street and subject illuminated.

The beach is always fun to explore as there's a mix of sea, sand and dunes. In the dunes we found this pile of driftwood and it prompted a story of Tarzan and the Elephants’ Graveyard in my head (they don't write books like that anymore!). Tilly proved a great Amazonian Warrior posing into full sun with a little flash to even the light on her.

One revolutionary piece of kit I played with last year was a GoPro Hero4 camera. It takes stills and video, is auto focusing and auto exposing with no manual controls. It was amazing. I've always fancied trying my hand at underwater image making.
