Exiting the airport we were met by our host, Unni Brekke. We'd been talking on Facebook for some months planning the event. From the minute we got a huge hug from her it was like meeting an old friend. She's a wonderful lady, very good photographer and Photoshopper and you'll be able to catch her Masterclass at Convention 2017, don't miss it.
We had a wonderful day exploring Bergen, walking Unni's dogs and generally saying WOW to each other. Norway is a beautiful country and Bergen a fantastic city. Clean, gorgeous and with the sun shining on us there was no better place to be. Tils even found time to bond with the locals.
Next day we were down to work. I gave the keynote presentation to start the day then together we delivered four one-hour taster sessions of Art Nude Photography. Of the 60 photographers to pass through only five had previously shot nudes but not one person went away disappointed and we hope we've lit a spark to explore the genre further amongst the group. Mostly we used natural light due to the confines of the room we were working in. With 15 photographers each time wanting to take the shot we had to work fast but it was a delight to show them both posing and lighting techniques.
By the end of the session both Tilly and I were exhausted but so happy to have met so many wonderful people, seen so many light bulbs going off in photographer's heads and taking some lovely images. Job satisfaction.
There are 53 days to get ready for The Society of Photographers Convention and Trade Show at The Novotel London West, Hammersmith ...
